Finding Purpose: Start Where You Are

It's a long life, some might say. Wouldn't that time be better spent doing something that makes you feel good? Notice what energises you in helping to find a purpose in life. It doesn't have to be a job, what you're paid for. Pay attention to activities where you lose track of time or feel most yourself, why not develop it into a past time outside of your paid hours?

What matters deeply to you? Connection, creativity, justice, learning, nature, service? Purpose often sits at the intersection of what you’re good at and what you care about.

If you’re feeling lost or struggling, try this:

* Start tiny: One small action towards curiosity or kindness daily

* Connect with others: Isolation may drain you instead of building you up, if so, reach out to a community

* Reduce noise: Limit social media, comparison and others’ expectations

* Seek support: Therapy, coaching or trusted conversations help immensely

* Focus on the present moment: What can you offer today? Start there.

When you live with purpose, stress becomes more manageable and decisions become clearer. Setbacks feel less devastating and joy becomes accessible because you’re aligned with yourself.
